The Federal Award for Outstanding Innovation Achievement is conferred annually by the German Minister of Economics and Technology to promote exemplary solutions and developments of new products, processes and services.
At the International Crafts Fair 2008 in Munich, PFERD was honoured with the Federal Award for Outstanding Innovation Achievement in recognition of its newly developed, patented COMBICLICK® quick-mounting and cooling system.
The COMBICLICK® product combines an innovative flexible backing pad with a metallic mounting system on every fibre disc. The rugged mounting fixture, secure disc attachment to the backing pad plus optimized cooling features help to provide
up to 30% lower workpiece temperatures; 75 % time savings due to a fast tool change; up to 25% increased stock removal; and up to 30% less tool wear.
Fibre discs have been around as abrasive tools for a very long time. Thanks to our unique backing pad, they now provide still more application versatility and an even broader choice of tools.
